We’re not chasing perfection.
We're chasing aliveness.
We believe a wedding is not a production to be performed. It’s an experience to be felt. The light matters. The flow matters. The guest comfort matters. But not so it looks impressive (even though it does!) So it feels effortless.

Our Philosophy

The actual truth about why we do what we do

You’ve heard of content creators, of course.
But did you know you can hire one to show up at your wedding and capture the day as is?

It’s also a perfect peek into what a real wedding day at the Atrium feels like, from the quiet getting-ready moments to the full-send dance floor chaos.

Alyssa & Jesse

go ahead, press play

We build experiences with backbone. Meaning the design is intentional, logistics are tight but the vibe is loose.

We respect tradition, but we don’t worship it. If a couple wants to flip the script, enter from the side, play board games or have a diet coke tower, we’re not clutching pearls. We’re adjusting the lighting.
You guys, we’ve witnessed 700+ weddings. We know where stress hides. We know when timelines lie. So we’ve designed a space that absorbs chaos and still looks calm.

We believe guests should feel considered and couples should feel like themselves.

And maybe most importantly we think weddings should be a little bold. A little weird. A little “was that allowed?” in the best way.
The Atrium isn’t about copying Pinterest.
It’s about helping couples create a celebration their guests will reference for the next decade.
If that all made you exhale a little…
welcome.

Weddings should feel lived in, not staged.

The Atrium is a one of a kind space that was 100% worth the drive for family and friends. I wouldn't have had my day hosted anywhere else. Lyndsey was so helpful and assuring about all my questions. They were the rockstar glue that made my day go seamlessly and I cannot recommend this venue enough! The decor package was 100% worth it and really took away anxiety I had about decor. My friends and family also adored the Photo Booth!

We had an absolutely incredible experience at The Atrium in Solon Springs, Wisconsin! From start to finish, the venue and the owners, Al and Lyndsey, went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. They were truly helpful every step of the way. Thanks to their guidance, we found fantastic vendors that made our day even more special. Always so easy to reach, quick to answer any questions, and ready to help with whatever we needed. From setting up 200 chairs inside just in case of rain to driving my grandma around in a golf cart, they truly cared about every detail. Every corner of The Atrium is thoughtfully designed to be beautiful and picture-perfect, which made our photos absolutely stunning. The in-house DJ was incredible as well. He was kind, professional, easy to work with, and kept the energy high all night. Our guests were thoroughly impressed! We traveled all the way from Chicago, a 7-hour drive, and it was so worth it. We wouldn’t change a single thing about our wedding day and we highly, highly recommend The Atrium to anyone near or far looking for the perfect venue. - Hannah

Our family and friends couldn’t stop raving about The Atrium and honestly, neither could we!

The Atrium was an AMAZING wedding venue to work with. Everything about this place is just gorgeous. The trees and buildings are beautiful, it is clean, comfortable and relaxing. We have had so many compliments from guests about how lovely the atmosphere was. Everything planning-wise was so smooth. The staff were very on top of keeping the process organized and were more than willing to help with vendor recommendations, unique ideas, and final touches to the day. I am so pleased with everything and could go on and on raving about how perfect our day was because of this gorgeous venue and wonderful owners. - Isabella

I could go on and on raving....

This is the place where your wedding vendors get married. As a fellow vendor, they're a delight. As a client, they're a dream.

I have had the pleasure of working with Al & Lyndsey professionally, and The Atrium has been on the very top of my venue list for years. I know a handful of others in our industry that have also chosen The Atrium as their venue - it clearly stands out as a top venue for the professionals.

The care, attention to detail, and love they have put into their space and couples is above and beyond. Each wedding season there are new updates and improvements, and it's been such a treat to be able to see the changes year after year. Every corner of The Atrium grounds is photogenic - the entire property is beautiful!   - Becca

Our guests were so impressed!

In short: the bones of a great wedding are already here. You just bring the people.

A few things you’ll bring in yourselves:
Food + catering
We don’t provide the food, which means you get the freedom to choose a caterer that fits your vibe, your tastes, and your budget. Just make sure they are licensed in WI.
Some favorites: A Wandering Fire and Fire Truck Pizza, MidCoast, Blackwoods, Sarah Mae, Oasis Del Norte, Tigs Smoking Pig and Lynns Custom Meats to name a few!

Florals + décor
The space already does a lot of the heavy lifting, but if you want flowers, signage, candles, disco balls, or a life-size cardboard cutout of your dog… that’s your call.
Flora North, Superior Blooms and Duluth Flower Farm to name a few.

Anything wildly specific
Fire breathers, ice sculptures, aerialists, custom espresso bars… we’re not automatically providing them, but we will absolutely cheer you on if you bring them.
Little Coffee House, Northland Special Events and Pure Events can give you some ideas.

We have an in-house sound system that all events use—ceremonies in the woods or indoors are already set up, and reception music runs through it too. Our in-house DJs are top-notch (available for an extra fee) and come highly recommended. Live bands? Nope—our walls, floors, and trees prefer playlists and DJs to keep everything sounding perfect.

The Atrium bar is licensed to serve beer, wine, cider, seltzers, champagne, and THC beverages.
We don’t serve hard liquor. Our bartenders handle all alcohol service, so you can relax and let them keep the good times flowing.
You’re welcome to run a cash bar or host the bar for your guests, and there’s no bar minimum either way.
The only firm rule: no outside alcohol. Our license requires everything to come through the Atrium bar.
It’s not us being party poopers, it’s just how our license works.

Correct. You are getting married in a greenhouse in the woods of northern Wisconsin. Which is exactly why it’s so cool. A few helpful things to keep in mind:

Dress like you’re going to a garden party, not a ballroom.
Light fabrics are your friend. Full suits can get warm and stilettos + gravel paths aren’t always the dream combo.

Rainstorms sometimes create a tiny “greenhouse moment.”
If it’s pouring outside, you might see the occasional drip inside. Nothing dramatic. Just Mother Nature reminding us who built the original venue.

Evening receptions are where this place shines.
We have fans and vents keeping air moving, but once the sun dips and the twinkle lights come on, the Atrium hits its stride. Summer nights here are undefeated.

Basically: it’s a little wild, a little magical, and very much connected to the outdoors. Exactly how we like it.

Anything that was brought in by you needs to leave with you.
This includes personal items, décor, rentals, and your drunk cousin Kevin.

We don’t allow overnight parking. One of the ways we make sure every couple gets a private, fresh start to their wedding day is by clearing the property after each event. Also, since The Atrium is our private residence, we’re not permitted or insured to store vehicles overnight.

The good news: this is pretty easy to plan around. A few things that help couples avoid any late-night car logistics:

Give guests a heads-up ahead of time so they can plan rides and party responsibly.

Hire a shuttle, especially for the wedding party or guests staying in nearby towns.

Designate a few key collectors who can grab keys and move vehicles before the night wraps up.

A little planning here keeps the end of the night smooth for everyone.

We don’t have lodging on-site, but there are plenty of good places nearby for you and your guests to land after the dance floor winds down.

Just a few minutes down the road is the  St. Croix Inn, and Swanson's Motel and the Solon Eagle Lodge. These are super close, comfortable and easy options!

You’ll also find lots of cabins, lake homes, and Airbnbs scattered around the Solon Springs, Gordon, Minong, Lake Nebagamon, Hayward area. If your people are the “let’s make a whole weekend of it” type, this is a great way to lean into the Northwoods vibe. It is literally the Northlands Vacationland! Think lake homes with pontoons and day after wedding chill.

And for guests who prefer a bigger hotel scene, Superior, WI  and Duluth, MN are about 35 minutes away and offer plenty of options.

In short: no on-site rooms, but lots of cozy Northwoods beds waiting nearby once the party wraps up.
